How the program has supported you
Thanks to the team leads’ connections with the biomedical department, Dr. Potvin was lending his lab to the team. However, the team needed to purchase the chemicals, cinnamon and other materials. Thanks to PAF, the team was able to make these purchases to help them further their investigations.
Outcomes
The team was able to complete the research portion of their project during the first half the year. This helped them put together an investigative report that was submitted and presented at the Multidisciplinary Undergraduate Research Conference (MURC). Unfortunately, there were some issues with figuring out the lab scheduling and COVID-19 restrictions (number of people allowed in the lab). Because of this, BIT was unable to complete the lab portion of their project, but plans to continue that this upcoming school year.
