How the program has supported you
The ASEE Conferences aim to bring together researchers from various universities across Canada and the United States to share their work on various aspects of engineering education. Through attending this conference last year, I was inspired to present my own work. Being able to conduct my own research and present it in front of other colleagues allowed me to see other lenses of my project while learning about others’ work.
Outcomes
The primary outcome of my research project was to enhance the understanding of diversity within undergraduate engineering student leadership roles. By presenting the data collected, I was able to find themes from students’ responses to paint a clearer picture to answer the research question. By continuing this conversation around diversity and inclusion in engineering student roles, we hope to increase representation of minority students and students of color in the engineering leadership community.
